Frustrationens Filippinerna

“Our government is one of the worst disaster and crisis management team i have ever known.. they seem so flat footed and are always caught by surprise in dealing with crisis! this happens not once, not twice but always. what more in extreme cases. the flooding caused by heavy rains and the released of water reservoir with late warning complicated the situation that turns the street of quezon city, marikina, rizal and other places into a raging river.

people talking without speaking, people hearing without listening.,silence like a cancer grows............. it’s about time that people stand up against this inept, inefficient and corrupt government. so many lives were lost, especially children, so many properties destroyed, and yet this government can only offer a measly and very late relief operation? i was in Bagong Silangan, Quezon City this morning with our organization doing relief operation and assistance, and there was no government rescuers or relief assistance even late this afternoon, but if the house of these urban poor will be demolished, there are tens of hundreds doing the demolition of houses, Where are these MMDA people now?

If there will be rallies and mobilizations calling for good governance, efficient delivery of social services and other national issues related to workers and poor peoples' interests and rights, police forces and other military personnel are all in the streets wagging their truncheons and sticks, where are they now? I am so sad that lots of our taxes goes to corruption, of things that people don’t need, of expenditures not for the sake of the people but for the sake of the few. This is worst, this is unforgivable.

i just want to share my pain on what i saw and experienced these past days" ~ Edwin Bustillos

I solidaritet med våra kamrater, mabuhay ng AKBAYAN!
